Lightner Museum, St. Augustine

Wednesday afternoon, February 24, 2021

Martha wanted to go see the Lightner Museum. It was once the Flagler Alcazar Hotel with a spa, ballroom and giant pool. Otto Lightner, a Chicago publisher, bought it and furnished it with his elaborate collections from around the world. He donated all to the city of St. Augustine to become the museum.

It is an enjoyable museum with some unusual things. My favorite was a room of stained glass windows.

  1. Love the stained glass window – what fun that must have been to see. And I’m very jealous of the warm weather you all have finally gotten. Snow in our forecast!

  2. Hi Willy, great weather today- 82 degrees, partly cloudy. We are camped at Otter Springs, but all springs are flooded from all the rains in Georgia.
